»Moon Over Buffalo

March 06, 2015 7:30 PM

Playwright Ken Ludwig, the master of period-perfect farce (see "Lend Me a Tenor", "The Fox on the Fairway"), aimed for the stars in "Moon Over Buffalo" and the result is out-of-this-world funny. In this fast-paced comedy set in Buffalo in 1953, a husband-and-wife acting team with a crumbling marriage try to keep their company together long enough to allow famed director Frank Capra to see their repertory ensemble perform. But with a pregnant ingénue, a drunk leading man and a surprise visit from their daughter, things quickly go horribly -- and hilariously -- wrong. The original Broadway run of "Moon Over Buffalo" starred Carol Burnett and Philip Bosco and ran for more than 300 performances, and now Jedlicka Performing Arts Center presents this exciting new production.

March 06, 2015 9:00 PM

Born to Tunisian parents in Düsseldorf, Loco Dice has a penchant for international sound. He created his start early on, inspired by the hip hop of the early '90s, eventually breaking his way into huge festivals such as Germany's Time Warp festival and Ibiza's Cocoon. It wasn't until 2002, with his studio partnership with Martin Buttrich, where his tracks such as "Menina Brasiliera" and "Seeing Through The Shadows" really showcased his international talent. Over the years Loco Dice has cautiously switched from Hip Hop to Techno, still managing to maintain himself as a force in nightlife scene

North Mississippi Allstars is a Southern/blues-rock jam band from Hernando, Mississippi that saw its fame meteorically rise in the year 2000 with the release of its debut record, Shake Hands With Shorty, which was subsequently nominated for a Grammy Award for "Best Contemporary Blues Album." The North Mississippi Allstars would ride this tremendous wave of success throughout much of the 2000s, earning the band multiple television guest spots and a short run as the in-house band for the late night show Last Call With Carson Daly. Having now settled into a steady groove of success with a substantial and loyal fan base, the North Mississippi Allstars is already looking to go down in history as one of the legendary bands of blues-rock.

»88 Fingers Louie

March 06, 2015 8:00 PM

Initially formed in Chicago in 1993, 88 Fingers Louie is hardcore punk outfit that has maintained its characteristic sound over the course of various records and hiatuses. Though the band's 1995 debut album,Behinds Bars, was met with widespread acclaim, internal friction drove 88 Fingers Louie to its first breakup in 1996. After a short reunion in 1998, the group disbanded again, and this time it remained inactive for a decade until 2009, when it held a reunion show at Chicago's Riot Fest. The band managed to excite its following with a short touring stint over the course of the following year, but by the time it was 2010, it had fallen into yet another period of inactivity. 88 Fingers Louie was back at it by 2013, and the band has since continues to spread its pop punk music onto broader audiences.
