Rated 1 out of 5 by Netta New Hotel! I had an issue with my room concerning the completion of the it,contacted the front desk, which was no help. Later on that following morning, I has another issue with the same room (which I was told everything was fine because it was a new hotel), and when I asked to be moved to another room or to have my reservation switched, I was declined the switched but management was more than willing to cancel my reservation. After this matter, Choice Hotels guest relations was also unwilling to resolve my issue leaving it in the hands of the hotel management. Did I mention that it took several trips to the front desk and hours later for the switch. August 8, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Spencer Brand newly opened - but should it have opened until 100% ready? Came upon this hotel last minute. Got a great rate. Checked in and pleasant nice staff. Lots of work still going on- strange entrance to enter the hotel, no inviting lobby. Location is not the best- a long walk from the Subway and while I am never feeling scared in NY, I did here. The Room - Good size, comfy bed. But I am concerned the newness of this hotel will not last. The towels are cheap and they lint on your skin and one has to be cautious of cheap white towels which state DO NOT BLEACH for a hotel! Bathroom mirror was missing, TV channels need programming and more work but a nice big 42inch. "breakfast' was flat and the chairs & tables were all missing. OJ was 1 out of 5 - not sure what it was. 1 Elevator hotels scare me- be cautious if it is out of service. Rooms on floor 1 could be scary so be cautious of these room looking out unto the street. Good potential but I think needs some work and I will look forward to see how it blossom over time. August 6, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by ComfAbsecon Should have delayed the grand opening This is the 3rd Sleep Inn to open in Brooklyn, and the 3rd I've stayed at and by far the least organized. The grand opening of the hotel was Thursday, July 31st and my stay was Friday August 1st. There is no lit designation of the exact location on the property. Just a non lit Sleep Inn decal on the roof of the building. The hotel is in my hometown of Brooklyn and I couldn't even find it, and it's right across the street from a Mcdonalds... So all night long you can hear the very loud drive thru ordering...the rooms are incredibly small and unfinished. My bathroom vanity mirror was laying on the floor when I checked in. The lobby has 2 lamps in it and construction materials are scattered throughout the building... I was not recognized as an Elite Platinum member at all during check in, and was not even informed where the Ice machine or breakfast area was... There is also no signage on the walls for breakfast or ice, and there is no vending machine.. My room was so small there was no room for one of the lamps so they just placed in front of the tv, terribly tacky and poorly done... The breakfast sausages were burnt and breakfast area had no seating at all, and it's in the basement surrounded by construction materials...the hotel opening surely should have been delayed until these kinks were worked out...The hotel is also advertised in downtown Brooklyn, but it's situated in Borough park..on an extremely noisy and shady side street in between a body shop and a u haul rental facility..it's louder than a midtown hotel by far outside, and very early, they really should've considered sound proofing. Oh and they also have no parking, at all , you have to leave your car in the street, I had to drag my luggage with my girlfriend 2 blocks... Quite disappointed... Stay at the Sleep Inn on 47th street, you will be much happier! August 3, 2014
