    »Karbach Brewing

    Karbach Brewing has been brewing and serving Houston since 2011. The brewery turns out craft brews in several categories: the "starting lineup" of regular year-round beers, the "seasonal lineup", limited release beers and their "F.U.N Series." Favorites from Karbach around the city include the Hopadillo IPA, Weekend Warrior Pale Ale and Karbachtoberfest to name just a few. Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons come in to the brewery for a tour. Admission price gets you a souvenir glass and four drink tickets. In addition to the brews, open house days also see food trucks come in to the drinking area so you can soak up a little of that beer.

    Memorial Park is a popular Houston attraction complete with a beautiful three-mile playground. There are walking paths, picnic sites, baseball fields, pine trees, gardens and ponds. Appreciate nature's beauty and make the most of the sunny weather. The locals love to jog here, but you can also rent a bike and hit the trail. There is also a public golf course with a clubhouse and restaurant, a tennis club, and a workout facility nestled on the grounds.

    »Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary

    Sit under the trees for shelter while admiring the spring migrants, such as singing hummingbirds and colorful warblers, and listening for the faint whisper of the rolling creek. Edith Moore herself lived on this land for 43 years. In 1978 she donated a small section to the Houston Audubon Society for use as a nature preserve for birds. Her husband even built the little log cabin that was renovated to house the headquarters, bookstore, and gift shop of the Audubon Society. Donations are appreciated.

    Get ready for some real haunting action...Screamworld at Woodlands has just about everything you would love—a haunted hotel, haunted houses and the fear factory. The haunted hotel is considered the most hi-tech in the city for its various animatronics. The Edge of Darkness has the traditional hauntings with twisted paths, ghostly apparitions and classic scare tactics. You will also find movie monsters in 3D, a cemetery and a maze of maniacs. This is the longest running haunted attraction and has been selected by America's Best Haunts as one of the best haunted attractions in the USA. Children below ten may be refused entry.

    »Beer Can House

    In 1979 retired upholsterer, John Milkovish, started hanging ceiling attachments, patching fences and tacking the sides of his house with empty aluminum beer cans. Unbelievable? The staff of Ripley's Believe It Or Not thought so as well and featured the house on the show. Other interesting characteristics added over time are the success ladder to the stars, the marvelous marbles address sign and the bucket faucet connections. It is definitely an interesting site to behold. Simply drive or walk by and have a look.

    »Bayou Bend

    Bayou Bend is the former home of Ima Hogg, a famous philanthropist. Visitors can wander through 14 acres of woodlands and formal gardens, or check out the house that contains 4,800 various works of art. This art represents the American style from colonial to mid-19th Century. The house is a lovely lifestyle museum of that century. Please take note that children under ten years of age can wander the gardens but are not allowed in the house.

    »Williams Water Wall

    Standing stoically among 18 acres of oak trees, Williams Water Wall (also known as Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park) has amazed visitors since its 1985 opening. The Water Wall sends 78,500 gallons of water down its face every three hours, utilizing a recycling mechanism that continues the torrent until the lights are turned off at the end of the day. Visible from many of downtown Houston's buildings, this attraction has become something of an icon with locals. Perfect for a romantic stroll, picnic, or reflective moment, Williams Water Wall is a great stop in the area.
