    »Carolyn Wonderland

    September 19, 2014 7:00 PM

Houston singer/songwriter Carolyn Wonderland dropped out of high school to pursue her musical ambition, teaching herself the guitar, mandolin, trumpet and piano, amongst others, then touring exhaustively, 300 days a year for two years in a row. While she is considered primarily a blues musician, Wonderland incorporates elements from country, zydeco, swing, and cumbia, never fully falling into one genre. Her dedication to her craft paid off, as Wonderland is able to count Bob Dylan among her admirers, has consistently found herself on the "Roots Music Reports" charts and has had her music featured on prominent NBC and Fox television programs. Wonderland's fervent devotion to music shows through in her performances and she is thus a live act not to be missed.

    September 19, 2014 9:00 PM

DJ Shadow (aka Joshua P. Davis) began his music career as a disc jockey for the University of California, Davis campus radio station KDVS. During his time at the radio station, he amassed a significant amount of eclectic records and began to delve into the esoteric world of music sampling. DJ Shadow's first full length release, 1996's Endtroducing..., was comprised entirely of sampled material from other albums. While it might seem unoriginal to take parts of other musicians work, DJ Shadow manipulates the sounds and pits samples against one another to create a myriad collection of tones that manage to complement one another.

    »Shear Madness

    September 19, 2014 8:00 PM

Set in a local hair salon, "Shear Madness" is a rollicking whodunit with you, the audience, as a central character. When the salon's landlady is murdered at the outset, a laugh-a-minute blend of mystery and improvisational theater ensues, with audience members called upon to make sense of the clues, question the actors and, ultimately, solve the crime. This interactive global phenomenon's spontaneous humor and frenzied energy have kept it on stage at Boston's Charles Playhouse for more than 35 years. Now one of the world's longest running non-musical plays comes to Dallas.
