together PANGEA is a rock and roll trio that earned a quick following in the Los Angeles area when it emerged in the mid-2000s with its thrash-worthy garage punk sound. Though the group's music still retains much of its infectious pop-hooks and punk aesthetic, its sound has evolved to include elements of post punk and 1990s alternative rock. Since its debut 2010 debut album, Jelly Jam, together PANGEA has stepped away from its association to Los Angeles' punk rock scene and into its own territory, where lyrical themes of detachment and fear push its dark power pop-infused music into higher realms of rock and roll.

    Ray Lamontagne
    Altria Theater November 02, 2014 8:00 PM
    6 North Laurel Street
    Richmond, VA 23220
Before Ray LaMontagne became a fairly recognizable figure on the adult soft rock scene, he worked in a shoe factory. The life of a mechanized cobbler was a hard one and LaMontagne worked 65 hour weeks quite frequently. One day, after being awakened by a Steven Stills tune, LaMontagne decided to quit his job at the shoe factory and pursue a life as a singer/songwriter. Though this was a mighty ambition to follow, LaMontagne saw it through and after handing a 10 song demo to a record executive, he was awarded a recording contract. His debut album resonated well with a slightly older crowd and even though LaMontagne's songs are mocked by most younger audiences, he's still able to tour and fill up the music halls in which he plays.
