New Mexico-based Americana singer/songwriter Ryan Bingham first began performing in 2007, grabbing the attention of fans and music critics with his raspy, Tom Waits-esque voice, unusual for a 24 year old. After signing to Lost Highway Records, Bingham added a backing band known as The Dead Horses, who tour and record with Bingham. The young artist's fame came, however, after he recorded the theme song "The Weary Kind," for Academy Award winning film Crazy Heart, which also snagged Bingham an Academy Award for "Best Original Song." Since then, Bingham has released his third full length and continues to tour, now to a much larger audience.

The Expendables is a band bred from the skate, surf, and party ethos of music made popular in the late 1990s by bands from Orange County, Long Beach and Santa Cruz. The group's releases are laden with upbeat beach grooves, but with a biting ska edge. Fittingly, the Santa Cruz band signed to Stoopid Records, owned by the band Slighty Stoopid, in the early 2000s.
