Soul Asylum is an American alternative rock band that formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1983. The band originally formed in 1981 under the name Loud Fast Rules, with the original line-up consisting of Dan Murphy, Dave Pirner, Karl Mueller and Pat Morley. The latter was replaced by Grant Young in 1984. The band recorded three albums with Twin/Tone Records and two with A&M Records to little commercial success. However, in 1992, they released the triple-platinum album Grave Dancers Union, featuring their Grammy Award-winning single "Runaway Train". The band played the Bill Clinton inauguration early the next year. They also scored a platinum record with the album Let Your Dim Light Shine three years later. In 1998 they recorded Candy From A Stranger. Mueller was diagnosed with cancer in 2004, causing the band to organize a benefit concert on his behalf. Mueller died a year later. »Memphis - The Musical

Loosely based on real events, Memphis tells the love story of a white disc jockey named Huey Calhoun and a black singer named Felicia Farrell. Set in a segregated America in the 1950s, the musical comments on the politics of the era as the couple fights to stay together. Although Memphis debuted on Broadway in 2009, the show made its premiere in 2002 at the New Works Festival in California and was produced in theaters across the country before finally making its way to New York.

Lady Antebellum is a country pop trio from Nashville, Tennessee. Formed in 2006 by Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood and Hillary Scott, the group has experienced a great deal of mainstream success with its poppy blend of singer/songwriter country and modern folk. The trio's music is largely acoustic in nature and is often full of sparse, unobtrusive arrangements of piano, pedal steel guitar and strings. Lady Antebellum's self-titled debut album arrived in 2008 and became an instant hit on country and adult contemporary radio stations while also debuting at number one on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. 2010's Need You Now would bring even more attention to the group, spawning several hit singles and a couple of world tours.

Best known for his 1981 hit "Jessie's Girl," Australian-born singer/songwriter Rick Springfield got his start as a solo artist in the early 1970s when he relocated to the United States. He released his debut album Beginnings, for which he provided all the lyrics, songwriting, lead vocals, guitar, keyboard and bandjo, in 1972 to immediate acclaim. His acting career is perhaps best defined by his soap star status on General Hospital, a stint that lasted from 1981 to 1983 and kicked off the most notable decade of his career. His 1981 album, Working Class Dog, featured the Grammy Award-winning song "Jessie's Girl," which became an instant classic, catapulting Springfield onto the world stage. After a series of another six successful studio albums released throughout the 1980s, he took a hiatus from recording, focused on a side project and finally returned to his solo career in 1999 with Karma. Though he never regained the level of celebrity he earned in previous years, Springfield returned as a recurring guest star on General Hospital in 2005 and continues to release new material as a solo recording artist, ultimately reviving bit of the fame around his name.

Steve Miller Band is an iconic American rock band that formed in San Francisco in 1967. After gaining little attention after releasing its debut album Childrenof The Future in 1968, the band began to experience some attention after dropping its second album, Sailor, later the same year. With each passing release the band's notoriety spread further beyond its Bay Area roots, with hits like 1973's "The Joker," Rock'n Me" and "Fly Like an Eagle." Sliding throughout the 1980s and 1990s with a steady stream of successful records, Steve Miller band secured its place in rock 'n roll history.Though Steve Miller's supporting has changed significanlty over the years, his band continues to record new albums and play live shows, ushering in a new generation of fans.
