The grand opening of the hotel was Thursday, July 31st and my stay was Friday August 1st. There is no lit designation of the exact location on the property. Just a non lit Sleep Inn decal on the roof of the building. The hotel is in my hometown of Brooklyn and I couldn't even find it, and it's right across the street from a Mcdonalds... So all night long you can hear the very loud drive thru ordering...the rooms are incredibly small and unfinished. My bathroom vanity mirror was laying on the floor when I checked in. The lobby has 2 lamps in it and construction materials are scattered throughout the building... I was not recognized as an Elite Platinum member at all during check in, and was not even informed where the Ice machine or breakfast area was... There is also no signage on the walls for breakfast or ice, and there is no vending machine.. My room was so small there was no room for one of the lamps so they just placed in front of the tv, terribly tacky and poorly done... The breakfast sausages were burnt and breakfast area had no seating at all, and it's in the basement surrounded by construction materials...the hotel opening surely should have been delayed until these kinks were worked out...The hotel is also advertised in downtown Brooklyn, but it's situated in Borough park..on an extremely noisy and shady side street in between a body shop and a u haul rental facility..it's louder than a midtown hotel by far outside, and very early, they really should've considered sound proofing. Oh and they also have no parking, at all , you have to leave your car in the street, I had to drag my luggage with my girlfriend 2 blocks... Quite disappointed... Stay at the Sleep Inn on 47th street, you will be much happier! August 3, 2014
