Zz Top

300 East 8th Avenue
Bowling Green, KY 42101
The Texas-based blues rock outfit ZZ Top rose to prominence in the early 1970s with its dirty brand of southern rock and wailing guitar solos. After releasing its 1971 debut album, fittingly titled ZZ Top's First Album, the band established its raw, earthy sound and attitude with fuzzy guitars and rollicking rhythms. Each of the band's subsequent releases throughout the decade earned critical acclaim and a fair amount of radio play, proving that the three-piece band's Texas drawls and dirty jokes resonated with fans outside of the Lone Star State. ZZ Top continues to release its bluesy southern rock music and remains one of the most easily identifiable acts around with two of its three members sporting bushy, chest-length beards.

Leftover Salmon

Lovers Lane
Bowling Green, KY 42103
Formed in Boulder, CO in 1989, Leftover Salmon has remained one of the preeminent staples of the jam band scene for over two decades. The band has gone through some roster changes over the years but is usually comprised of six core members, often with additional musicians onstage during live performances. Like many acts in the jam band genre, Leftover Salmon employs elements of country, rock and bluegrass into its music, but is particularly notable for its regular inclusion of world influences, particularly those of Cajun music and zydeco. The result is a lively and highly-skilled blend of banjo picking, guitars, fiddle, drums, mandolin and keyboards. Leftover Salmon went on hiatus for a couple of years in 2005, but has since remained active on the festival circuit.

The play follows Bernard, a Parisian architect and womanizer, as he manages visits to three flight attendant fiancées of varied nationalities, only to have his planning and timetables disrupted by the introduction of a newer, faster Boeing jet. Since its seven-year opening run on London's West End in 1962, the play has won several awards. Boeing-Boeing is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most performed French play in the world.
