Before Monte Warden went on to a successful career as a pop crooner, her fronted the visionary 80s country band The Wagoneers. Reunited after a two decade hiatus, the Austin-based band mixes outlaw country and rockabilly in way that instantly proved a welcome respite from the country music coming out of Nashville. Comprised of former touring and recording session musicians for some of country music's most respected figures, Heybale is an uptempo, jam-tinged band from Austin, Texas. The band's five members have experience playing with everyone from Johnny Cash and Buck Owens, to Merle Haggard and Brian Setzer, amassing priceless tour stories and studio tales along the way. With Heybale, the seasoned musicians seem to have made the fun of simply creating music with friends a number one priority. Originally formed in Nashville in 1999 by drummer Tom Lewis, the band has seen a couple of lineup changes but has nevertheless now earned its stripes as a fixture in the Austin country scene.
Burt Bacharach is an American composer and singer who has had an extremely prolific career since one of his songs became a No. 1 hit on the US country charts in 1957. Probably most well-known for his song arranging, Bacharach's characteristic style relies heavily on odd chord progressions, syncopated rhythms and a hefty reliance on slightly unusual brass instruments like the flugelhorn. A songwriter who can always be counted on to produce a listener-friendly hit, Bacharach has written songs for notable singers like Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones and Barbra Streisand, amongst others. Creating a style of music that could fall under the neoclassical-jazz category, the talented songsmith has also helped score a number of well-known films, such as Casino Royale and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
