Blondfire is an indie pop outfit from New York City that is made up of the brother-sister duo Bruce and Erica Driscoll. The band formed in 2002 as Astaire and released one record, the 2004 single "Don't Whisper Lies," before adopting the name Blondfire in 2005 due to legal issues with the Fred Astaire estate. After parting ways with its UK-based label EMI Records, in 2008, the band self-released its debut full-length album My Someday, in 2008 on its own Tender Tender Rush label. In 2012, after four years of operating independently, Blondfire signed a contract with Primary Wave Music as well as Warner Bros. Records, who released its 2012 EP, What The Kids Are.
