»King's Park International Church

Located conveniently at Odyssey Drive, Kings Park International Church welcomes communities from different parts of the Triangle like Raleigh and Cary. A Sunni place of worship established in the year 1981, Jamaat Ibad Ar-Rahman is also Durham's largest mosque. A diverse community welcoming Muslims from different parts of the world including Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Palestine, this mosque offers a range of services - conducts Nikahs (marriages) and Aqeeqah. Muhammad Mosque No. 34 was built as a part of the Nation of Islam movement that swept across America in the 1930's. This movement started by Elijah Muhammad led to the construction of more than 400 mosques across the country which focused on the improvement of social, economic and spiritual conditions of the African-American Muslims. The order mainly follows the Sunni sect and the mosque provides support to the nearby African-American community.
