    Kidd Field, adjacent to UTEP's Sun Bowl Stadium, is the grounds for the University's track and field meets. Named after the Texas College of Mines and Metallurgy professor John W. Kidd, the facility was originally the campus' football field when it was built in 1938.

    »El Paso Railroad & Transportation Museum

    El Paso's small Train Museum, located just a block south of the Convention Center, Features a restored El Paso & Southwestern Railroad Locomotive Number One that dates from 1857. The area has a rich railroad history, retold through various archival footage and artwork. A small children's play area lies to the side. Admission is free, but donations are much appreciated.

    The El Paso Zoo, though modest in size and means, aims to preserve and conserve as many species as possible. The 18-acre grounds feature hundreds of different types, from Amur leopards, Asian elephants, Sumatran Orangutans, alligators, and a host of fish and birds. In the morning the tiny tykes can meet sea lions, and on the African Star train, kids can get a really close look at some of the smaller animals, like the African hedgehog or an opossum. Every autumn the zoo puts on a two-day Elephant Festival. Don't miss it!

    This golf club is one of the premier courses in the Southwest, its a challenging par-72 terrain that encourages rather than discourages. Everyone in the pro shop is friendly and the clubhouse is stocked with many drink options after or before your game.     Skydiving El Paso is located across the New Mexico-Texas border in the town of Santa Teresa, NM. Upon arrival at the Dona Ana County Airport, passengers board a Cessna 182 and soar up to a height of almost 10,000-ft. This is a great place for beginners or students and the experienced divers also will provide tandem jumps upon request by appointment. Rates are affordable.

    The Ascarate Golf Courses are located in the larger park of the same name. The 18-hole golf course is perfect for any level, and the 9-hole executive course is great for a quick round. Since its opening in 1955, the course has attracted golfers from nearby as well as those from afar. Both golf courses offer a challenge, with their curves, bends and slopes that are unique. There are also golfing programs arranged here for beginners.
