Mangum was named after the brave Captain A.S. Mangum who led his side to victory in the famous Battle of San Jacinto. Also referred to as the Tin City, this one has gained popularity as it is home to the fourth longest-lasting light bulb that is kept inside an old firehouse. Present day Mangum is an effervescent little city that celebrates festivals and events such as New Years, Halloween, 4th of July, Christmas, Livestock Shows and flea markets with great pomp.
