The Tower Station and U-Drop Inn is an unusual example of Art Deco architecture. Located on the historic Highway 66, the building was a major attraction and served as a gas station and a cafe. The building was abandoned after the deactivation of the Route 66. It is now a property of the City of Shamrock and is now home to a museum and a visitor center.
Here you will find forty-five vintage windmills and one wind generator on a four-acre site at the junction of Highways 283 and 15.
Located in an old lingerie factory, Devil's Rope Museum opened its doors in 1991. This one-of-a-kind museum on barbed wire is filled with its history featuring an extensive library, an impressive collection of wire from private collectors and artifacts relating to Route 66. Get fascinated by the lore of this pointy fencing material. There are more than thousand types of barbed wire and each of them is unique. Exhibits of barbed wire art such as a cowboy hat and a jack-rabbit will pique your interest. Also on display are tools and machinery used to make these wires and fence posts. If you don't know what a barb wire is and think it is boring, a visit to this interesting place might change that.
