This Or The Apocalypse & One Year Later
    The ChampSeptember 21, 2014 6:00 PM
    52 Rear Market Street
    Lemoyne, PA 17043
This or the Apocalypse is a post-hardcore band from Lancaster,Pennsylvania that was founded in 2005. Having built a unique sonic aesthetic for itself during its formative years, when it played nearly nothing by dive bars and slipshod venues, by the time This or the Apocalypse entered the studio to record its debut album, the group was a polished act that was able to lay down its technically adept songs with ease. Though the band has grown into a somewhat recoginasable figure of its genre-specific scene, the band has never forgot its roots of rural Pennsylvania and consistantly manages to play shows in the area to its loyal fan base there.

Canadian pianist and former child prodigy Angela Hewitt's eleven-year project to record J.S. Bach's complete keyboard works has been met with awed wonder and wide-ranging superlatives from music lovers and critics around the world. Named artist of the year by "Gramophone" in 2006, she's said to possess a performance style full of "candor, freshness and animation" (Daily Telegraph). Now, Hewitt opens Shriver Hall's 48th season with a very special concert featuring Bach's complete "The Art of Fugue", in advance of her much-anticipated release on Hyperion Records. Composed in the last decade of Bach's life, the famed piece is made up of 18 complex fugues and canons, each based on a variation of a single theme.

Senses Fail is a post-hardcore band from Ridgewood, New Jersey with a melodic sound. After the band released its debut album Let It Enfold You in 2004, it was met with incredible acclaim. Due to its post-hardcore style, Senses Fail has been expected to support the scene's values. The members have rocked the scene by not having adamant opinions about political issues; they don't mind commercial success, in fact, they welcome it, unlike their fellow members of the post-hardcore scene.

    Baltimore, MD 21201
Since the year of its conception in 2003, Louisville, Kentucky-based group Coliseum has worked exhaustively to prove itself as a band. The trio self-funded extensive touring as well as the production and release of a few EPs years before landing a major record deal. Even when the group's drummer left the band right before a tour, Coliseum refused to cancel a single date, instead enlisting friends to take his place until a permanent replacement was found. All of the band's dedication paid off in 2006 when Relapse Records signed Coliseum and released it's highly acclaimed hardcore punk full length No Salvation. Since then, the band has still refused to rest and continues to tour worldwide, while developing its DIY sound.

    Big Apple Circus
    Dulles Town CenterSeptember 21, 2014 12:00 PM
    Atlantic Boulevard & Nokes Boulevard
    Sterling, VA 20166
New York's long running circus was originally the brainchild of Russian-born Gregory Fedin, whose goal was to train "first generation" performers in the traditions of circus acts. The show has been running since 1977, growing larger and larger over the years until it eventually became the New York staple it is today. The Big Apple Circus combines clowns, trapeze artists, animals galore and everything you'd expect from a classic circus, with a touch of modern flair inspired by current popular shows such as Cirque du Soleil.
