Conecuh means the land of cane which fits its trail as it is full of canebrakes. Spread across 83,000 acres (33589 hectares) of mostly flat forestland, the Conecuh National Forest was established in 1936. Comprising of pine, scrub oak, dogwood and other trees, it has an amazing aquatic maze of cypress ponds and spiraling creeks. It is also a great place for those who love to holiday outdoors. There are three picnic sites in the forest, the Blue Lake Recreation Area, Open Pond Recreation Area and the Leon Brooks Hines Public Fishing Lake. Whether it is mountain biking, target shooting, camping, fishing, boating, hiking, swimming or nature viewing, there is no dearth of activities here.

The Roland Cooper State Park is a state park located in Alabama, near Camden. One of the main attractions at the park is its nine hole golf course that was built in 1972. Recreation at the park includes a number of cabin and cottage stays, campgrounds, picnic areas, wildlife watching, fishing and boating facilities.
