    Delivering Powerful Presentations
    Marriott WashingtonOctober 22, 2014 9:00 AM
    1221 22nd Street Northwest

Sooner or later, everyone is going to be called upon to do a presentation or to speak in a public setting.  As more changes become managed by cross-functional work teams, more employees at all levels of the organization are being asked to present on various topics.

The presentations you become engaged in will range from simple five minute project briefings to multi-day seminars.  In any event, you will be challenged by participants to provide them with an informative, lively, and interesting presentation.  To do this, you need to understand the basic principles of adult education, the fundamentals of visual aid construction, the implications of body language, and the methods of voice variation. In addition, you will also need to understand the basic principles of facilitation.

This powerful three-day workshop will equip you with the skills to become a far more effective presenter and facilitator.  You will learn presentation skills, concepts, and principles through a number of dynamic lectures, interactive class discussions, and practical hands-on activity-based learning exercises.  Day three of this learning event is a hands on day for participants to practice the theory and techniques they've learned in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

By The End of the Workshop You Will Be Able To:Determine why and when you should presentConvey your message's benefits to the audienceDevelop your message easily and effectivelyUse visual aids to enhance your messageApply your verbal and non-verbal delivery skillsOptimize your presentation environmentDeliver powerful presentations! You Will Learn To:Successfully plan and organize your presentation every timeUse simple techniques for designing a presentationDetermine and apply the best flow structure for your presentationChoose the most effective visual aids to enhance your presentationDesign the opening, body, and closing of a dynamic presentationSolicit feedback by asking appropriate open and closed questionsDeal with interruptions, difficult questions, and difficult peopleOvercome fear and anxiety
