    Black Horse Tavern

    83 Black Horse Tavern Road
    Cumberland Township, PA 17325
A stone house built in 1812, Black Horse Tavern is a two story structure that is set in a farm. It was reportedly once used as a hospital during the Battle of Gettysburg. This tavern was the residence of Francis Bream and his family. The main attraction of this modest building is the look and pattern of the stones which adorn the entire front wing of the structure. It is named so because of the large carved black horse in front of its entrance. This tavern has been altered since its construction, and is currently used as a private residence.
