Gettysburg Battlefield Historic District is an area that encompasses different sites where the gruesome Battle of Gettysburg was fought. During the American Civil War, Confederate and Union forces bitterly battled against each other, there were almost 51,000 casualties. Farms were transformed into graveyards and this battle finally ended after three days of fierce attacks. Today, visitors can tour the different sites and tourist attractions that are part of the Gettysburg Battlefield Historic District.
