Yorktown in Texas is a lesser known city that was founded by Captain John York in the early 19th century. This city has a modest population and is only in news for its Western Days Festival that brings the whole town to life. This festival that starts off with a parade around town is a kaleidoscope of sorts. Events include street dances, rodeo shows, live music, horseshoe throw contests, road races and much more. There are also performances by famous actors and artistes. In a nutshell, a carnival that gives celebration a whole new dimension.
