The five mile stretch of trail runs through various Baltimore neighborhoods as it winds its way through open fields and wooded areas. Kent Island South Trail is perfect for cyclists, runners and leisurely strolls thanks to the gorgeous scenery. The trailhead is located at Matapeake State Park and ends at Romancoke Pier.
Located along the gorgeous Chesapeake Bay, Sandy Point State Park is a 786 acre (318 hectares) that has been one of the states natural gems since 1952. The scenic water views make it an ideal place for a picnic or leisurely stroll. The soft sandy beaches are packed on hot summer days and make for a great swimming spot, complete with lifeguards. Fishing and crabbing are also allowed from the park's shoreline, however licenses are required. The marina offers 22 launching ramps day-use slips that are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
This 13-mile (20 kilometers) paved trail stretches from suburban Glen Burnie to Annapolis, affording bicyclists, skaters and walkers a respite from the hustle and bustle of Baltimore's encroaching suburbs. Baltimore & Annapolis Trail Park attracts about 1.5 million people annually and is one of the most popular bicycling-hiking trails in the region. The linear park is 66-foot (20 meters) wide from beginning to end. Parking is available at Route 450 (Ritchie Highway) and Boulter's Way in Annapolis, and at the northern Earleigh Heights Road in Severna Park. The park opens daily at 7a.
Spread over 200 acres (80 hectares) of verdant fields, featuring five barns, two indoor areas, as well as riding rings, the Obligation Farm is a historic property. The two-and-a-half story home surrounded by beautiful flora is a landmark on the streetscape. It is an ideal place for summer youth camps or simple relaxation and recreation.
