Known as the Upstate's number one Country Western nightclub and bar, the Blind Horse Saloon is a big hit with South Carolina locals and country line-dancing enthusiasts. The saloon is a full-service bar that hosts country-western bands ranging from local acts to Grammy Award and CMA Award winners including Garth Brooks and Travis Tritt. On Wednesday, the saloon opens up into a full-on dance party with young and old people hitting the floor to do their favorite line routine or the official South Carolina state dance called The Shag. The Blind Horse does not serve food but there are many restaurants conveniently located nearby. Don't forget your cowboy boots and hat!
This club on the eastern edge of Greenville plays a mix of Latin music almost every night of the week. Its massive 9,000-square foot houses a dance floor, restaurant, stage and private VIP tables. If you like bachata, merengue or reggae music, then this is the spot to visit.
Escape Oxygen Bar encompasses many things including a full-service bar, hookah lounge, restaurant, nightclub and pool lounge. The atmosphere is club-like but if dancing is not your cup of tea, chill out in one of the lounges for a group hookah smoke or a pool game. The food menu consists of bar fare like chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers and burgers. The crowd is mixed depending on the day and event going on, especially on Saturdays when it is an under-age dance party. Check the website for upcoming events.
When people in Spartanburg and surrounding towns want to hear some metal, rock or punk, they come to Ground Zero. This place has been here since time immemorial and inside the drinks are strong, the music is loud and everyone is usually friendly. Most of the music is local, however some big-name acts have passed through, one of which was the thrash band Slayer.
