Trampled by Turtles (also known as TBT for short) is a bluegrass band from Duluth, Minnesota that describes its special brand of the celebrated and uniquely American genre as "thrashgrass." Proclaimed by music publications as being quite possibly the best live act in the state of Minnesota, Trampled by Turtles has a talent for convincing audiences of widely disparate musical tastes to enjoy its markedly untraditional style of bluegrass. Having released several albums since the band's debut in 2004, Trampled by Turtles is already starting to see its influence spread by leaps and bounds, leading many to label the band as one of the first to bring bluegrass into the 21st Century.

Formerly called Sparky's Flaw, the Charlottesville, Virginia five-piece Parachute has managed to land itself amongst the teeny-bopper bands that every little girl dreams of hanging out with. After the band members graduated from college, they focused solely on promoting their debut full length, which landed them a contract with Nivea Skincare, which used two of the band's songs on national commercials. As part of this contract, the band shared the stage with the Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift on the Nivea Times Square Stage for the 2008 New Year's Eve countdown. The result was tremendous fame, national tours with bands like Switchfoot and a girlfriend for the Parachute drummer (who snagged Taylor Swift after the performance).

Troy Andrews (aka Trombone Shorty) is a trombone and trumpet player from the New Orleans area who is known for his high-energy, quirky take on the jazz genre. From reworked versions of standards such as "When the Saints Go Marching In," to unlikely covers of rock and pop songs like AC/DC's "Back in Black" and Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get it On," he revels in bringing a bit of firecracker irreverence to what can often be a stuffy genre. Andrews attempts to make the audience feel like a part of the show by offering up call-and-response group vocals and encouraging everyone to clap and dance along. His feel-good style has gained prominence over recent years and in 2005, Andrews became a member of Lenny Kravitz's recording and performing horn section.
