    »George Thorogood

    October 04, 2014 7:00 PM

George Thorogood is a guitarist who is probably best known for his hit song "Bad to the Bone" as well as for his covers of Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love" and Hank Williams' "Move it on Over." Born and raised in Delaware, growing up Thorogood had two passions: music and baseball. He was quite good at the latter--so good, in fact, that his band, The Destroyers, forced him to quit baseball to focus solely on music. The dedication paid off when George Thorogood and the Destroyers released their eponymously-titled debut album in 1977. The LP managed to catch some buzz and soon the band had built a national fan base that was extremely keen on the group's characteristic boogie rock sound. Though Thorogood's fame has faded significantly since his glory days in the late-1970s and 1980s, he still releases music and tours, playing to his enduring fan base of aging music aficionados.

    »David Nail

    October 09, 2014 8:00 PM

Born and raised in Missouri, David Nail was presented with several offers to play baseball in college but chose to turn them down in the hopes of pursuing a music career. He moved to Nashville to explore his love of county music and was signed to MCA Nashville in 2002, when he released his self-titled debut album. Nail's music is very reflective of contemporary country styles, with lap-steel acoustic ballads as well as more uptempo, rock and roll-influenced tracks populating his albums. On his 2007 album, I'm About to Come Alive, Nail branched out to work some big names in the country music world, including Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts.

    »White Mystery

    October 11, 2014 7:00 PM

The White Stripes, The Black Keys and now...White Mystery. Apparently if you're a duo looking to make garage-inspired blues rock these days, a two-word black/white combo name makes for a good template. The Chicago-based White Mystery is a brother/sister duo of guitar and drums based heavily upon the wailing, soulful croon of Alex White. Thrashing along behind her, Francis Scott Key White does a fantastic job keeping pace with the raucous material being belted out by his sister. The frizzed-out, puffs of red hair owned by the two make for interesting viewing as the duo cranks out its almost punk rock take on modern blues.

    »Willie Nelson

    October 11, 2014 8:00 PM

During the outlaw-country movement in the '70s few artists were as respected as Willie Nelson. His renegade aura as well as his reputation as somewhat of a drifter helped bolster his notoriety and cement his place in country music. Though many of his peers in the '70s have faded into pop culture oblivion, Nelson has managed to stay relevant - constantly reinventing himself and his sound with dabbles into various forms of music including reggae, blues, jazz and lounge.
