Sevendust is an alternative metal band that was formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1994 by bassist Vince Hornsby, drummer Morgan Rose and guitarist John Connolly. After releasing its first demo, the band completed its lineup with lead vocalist Lajon Witherspoon and guitarist Clint Lowery before Sevendust released its eponymous debut album in 1997. With nu metal-tinged post-grunge sound, the band attracted alternative rock fans as well as a heavy metal audience. Sevendust continues to progress with its signature, genre bridging sound on records including 2013's Black Out the Sun.

The exhibit "Make A Joyful Noise" Renaissance Art and Music at Florence Cathedral features the work of Italian artist Luca della Robbia (1399-1482). Many important artists were invited to fill the Florence's Cathedral vast interior and among them was Robbia, well known for his Cantoria (singing gallery). The motif of Robbia's marble panels is of children playing instruments, singing and dancing to music. Also part of the display is an audio tour with music from the choir books.

»The Forty Part Motet by Janet Cardiff

The exhibit The Forty Part Motet by Janet Cardiff showcases a re-creation of a 40-part choral piece by Tudor composer Thomas Tallis (1505-1585). In the Canadian artist's installation are 59 voices of adults and children, each recorded separately while performing Tallis' 1556 composition Spem in Alium Nunquam Habui. 40 individual loudspeakers organized in an oval divided into five different vocal ranges play back in unison. Every spot within the installation promises a unique aural experience.

American Encounters: Anglo-American Portraiture in an Era of Revolution is an exhibit in collaboration with the Musee du Louvre, the Terra Foundation for American Art and the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Five portraits are displayed together for the first time that demonstrate how portraiture style changed in the late 18th and early 19th Centuries. This evolution came about from the way the American and European painters influenced each other.
