Hayes Carll is a singer/songwriter from Texas. His deep, razor-sharp voice cuts right through his songs about characters from small towns in the American South. Carll writes characteristically biting lyrics and falls squarely into the alternative country genre. Though it took him years to develop a following, Carll finally released his debut album in 2002 and was lauded with critical acclaim. Many publications have compared him to late folk singer, Townes Van Zandt.
