Judith Hill is a multi-talented Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter who can sing in English and Japanese. Beginning her career as a backup singer for the noted French musician Michel Polnareff, in 2009 Hill would go on to prepare to serve as a duet partner for Michael Jackson's This Is It production. Unfortunately, Jackson's death nixed those plans.After appearing on, but not winning, the fourth season of the musical competition television show The Voice in 2013, Hill was noticed and signed by Sony Music.
Greek-born Avram Pengas is known on the world music scene as both a skilled guitarist and a "bouzouki" virtuoso, shining a spotlight on the traditional Greek instrument. His music creates a rich musical palette rooted in the Mediterranean and the Middle East. A skilled arranger, Pengas draws upon both Eastern and Western rhythms in a dynamic, improvisational style that recalls American jazz. Since opening his nightclub, Noga, in the heart of Greenwich Village in 1979, he has performed in the off-Broadway production of "Hot Klezmer" and has become a staple of New York's downtown music scene. He'll bring is culture-spanning sound to the stage for this Festival of Lights celebration.
