Midon was born in New Mexico, the son of an Argentine folk dancer. Due to premature birth weight, Midon was kept in an incubator without proper eye protection, thus blinding him for life. At age 4, his father began playing drums for young Midon, instilling in him a passion for music. He began his career supporting other Latin superstars such as Shakira and Julio Iglesias, abandoning back-up work to focus on his solo work in early 2000s, at which time he moved to New York City. Midon's music mixes an incredible variety of genres, blending flamenco, jazz, R&B and soul. His talent on a wide variety of instruments and vocal agility have led him to become a venerated musician, touring all over the world with his dynamic solo act.

"Molly" explores secret revelations of the young mistress of J.M. Synge, one of Ireland's greatest playwrights. Synge's brief yet passionate affair with Mary "Molly" Allgood, considered a "shockingly unsuitable" mistress due to her working-class upbringing as well as her religious and political affiliations, was tragically cut short due to his rapidly deteriorating health. Synge died of complications related to Hodgkin's lymphoma at 37 (he and Molly were engaged to be married at the time), yet his work, some of which was inspired by their relationship, still greatly impacts audiences and writers to this day. This original Scena Theatre production, written by award-winning Irish author and Georgetown Professor Emeritus George O'Brien, is presented at the Atlas Performing Arts Center.

Imagine a surf rock band that has everything going for them. They're the house band of the local hang out spot and are considered to be some of the coolest dudes around when they jam together. Unexpectedly, the girlfriend of the lead singer breaks up with him and shatters his heart. As a result, the band's feel good tunes sour and turn into melancholy dittys about lost love and attempted reconciliation. Though this isn't the story of the New York based indie rock outfit The Drums, after hearing the group, one could imagine that it is. The band's lo fi surf rock sensibilities are coupled with self-despairing qualities of '80s New Wave and manage to warrant interesting, if not 100% original, results.

During the 2000s, the English band Metronomy contributed its part towards bolstering the public's knowledge of the dance punk genre. Though the group often gets called a electropop act, Metronomy has a harder sound that's more mature than many of the bands that crank out electro infused pop songs. Despite loosing one of the founding members, Gabriel Stebbing, in 2009, the group has continued on and actually experienced somewhat of a second wind now that Stebbing is gone.
