The monumental Johnstown Flood National Memorial is set up in Croyle Township/Adams Township in Cambria County, Pennsylvania. Spread over a colossal area of 164.12 acres (66.42 hectares), the memorial commemorates the 2209 people who were killed in the Johnstown Flood of 1889. The memorial preserves the remains of the dam as well as portions of the former Lake Conemaugh bed. It had recorded as many as 111,987 tourists in 2005 and still continues to pull in great crowds each year.
