»Kip Moore

November 22, 2014 7:30 PM

Kip Moore is a country singer/songwriter from the rural town of Tifton, Georgia, who first started playing music after purchasing a guitar while attending Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Alabama. After graduating, Moore moved to Hawaii where he honed his songwriting approach, in addition to pursuing actives like surfing and backpacking. Upon returning to the mainland, Moore opted to pursue a career as a musician, moving to Nashville, where he spent four years gigging before landing a recording contract. Those years, worked to Moore's advantage, serving as a incubator of sorts and honing his approach, helping make his debut album, 2012's Up All Night, a well rounded artistic piece that was well received both critically and commercially.

With a stunning score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and the famed lyrics of Tim Rice, the compelling true story of Eva Perón, the controversial first lady of Argentina, comes to vivid life on stage. Filled with stunning showstoppers like "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" and "Another Suitcase in Another Hall," "Evita" follows a small-town peasant girl as she uses her considerable smarts to rise from the slums of Argentina. Driven by ambition and blessed with charisma, she became a starlet at twenty-two, the president's mistress at twenty-four, First Lady at twenty-seven, and died at thirty-three. Eva Peron, 'saint to the working-class, reviled by the aristocracy and mistrusted by the military,' left a political legacy that shines on to this day. With its compelling score that fuses haunting chorales with exuberant Latin, pop and jazz influences, "Evita" creates an arresting theatrical portrait as complex as the woman herself.

»God Of Carnage

November 22, 2014 8:00 PM

Dark comedy of manners "God of Carnage" reveals that while kids will inevitably be kids, adults may not always act like grown-ups. The show opens with two sets of high-strung Brooklyn parents meeting to work things out after their young sons squabble on the playground. As their talk progresses and the rum flows, their behavior devolves from civilized to outrageous. Accusations are hurled, secrets are confessed and diplomatic facades crumble before your eyes. Filled with scandalous hilarity, "God of Carnage" took Broadway by storm and walked away with the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play.

»Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra Performs Jesus Christ Superstar

November 22, 2014 8:00 PM

Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Jesus Christ Superstar" changed the face of musical theater when it debuted on Broadway in 1971. The rock 'n' roll retelling of the last seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth, "Superstar" dramatizes Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, the unrest caused by his message and his popularity, his betrayal by Judas, his trial before Pontius Pilate and his ultimate crucifixion. Chart-topping songs such as "Superstar," "Everything's Alright" and "I Don't Know How to Love Him" dramatically highlight the struggles of those final days. Now the Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra brings their version of this epic hit to the stage. See this 10-vocalist rock band perform, in its entirety, the rock opera that changed the world. It's a full-on contemporary rock 'n' roll spectacle, complete with epic lighting, thunderous sound -- and not a robe or sandal in sight.
