Anasazi is a progressive rock/metal band from Rhône-Alpes, France that, derives its namesake from the title of an episode of the famed science fiction TV series The X Files, which, in the Navajo language means "ancient ones." Since forming in 2003, the members of Anasazi has used their own unique "homebrew" approach to making music and getting their name out, and so far, their efforts have more than succeeded. Although, progressive rock has typically not been known to be one of the more popular genres in the annals of rock history, Anasazi attempts to maintain the classic complexity that many associate with progressive music, while at the same time infusing it with a pop sensibility.
