This Texas-based chain is a Texan favorite with restaurants all over the state. The food is mostly comfort food, with plenty of delicious fried treats, as well as some healthier-options for the vegetarian or health-conscious. Try the Crispy Fried Catfish, Chicken Fried Steak, or Meatloaf made right in the cafe. For lighter fare, there are sandwiches or try an appetizer such as Spinach & Artichoke Dip or Jumbo Crispy 'Shrooms. With one of, if not THE biggest beer selection in town, Crickets Grill & Draft House is the place to go if you want a cold one. The restaurant/bar serves up brews from all over the world, as well as ones from selected Texas microbreweries. Even if you prefer your mixed drinks, Crickets can help you out there. Try the Alien Secretion, the name of which most likely came from the Lubbock Lights debate, a mixture of coco rum, melon, and pineapple juice. The food is mostly hamburgers and sandwiches, pizza and pasta, along with a variety of meat and seafood dishes. Crickets often hosts live music nights, and if you really want to live it up, there are a selection of cigars available.
One of the best parts of the 50 Yard Line Steakhouse is the menu. Besides listing all the delicious food that can be obtained, it is cleverly and amusingly presented. With over 90 flavors to choose from and different styles of dessert including a light and fluffy shaved ice or tropical fruit drink, it is sure to provide you with a delicious treat to help you cool down.
