The Lantern Tavern has one of the best beer selections in all of Lubbock. All in all, they offer over four dozen different varieties of beer, including 18 on tap. These include your more common domestic brews along with harder-to-find IPA and microbrews. The tavern also features a large menu featuring appetizers like cheese sticks and pizza rolls and entrees like burgers, tacos, and fish and chips. When the weather is pleasant, there is an outdoor patio you can enjoy your drink and food on.
Chances R Night Club & Fun Bar is the place to head to in Lubbock when you are looking to dance the night away. Live DJs play songs that keep the dance floor filled here. On the first and third Sundays of the month a live band plays for the crowd. Chances R also offers a fully stocked bar that makes great cocktails, and there are different drink specials every night. Because of all of this, Chances R has become the preferred destination for locals looking for a great time out.
Jake's Sports Cafe is an upscale sports bar that features nearly 60 televisions which air your favorite games and matches. Although the story of how Chimy's Ceveceria was founded might not make much sense to most who walk through its doors, the taste of their food and the cold ones sure do. The restaurant and bar serves up brews from all over the world, as well as ones from selected Texas microbreweries. Even if you prefer your mixed drinks, Crickets can help you out there. Try the Alien Secretion, the name of which most likely came from the Lubbock Lights debate, a mixture of coco rum, melon, and pineapple juice. The food is mostly hamburgers and sandwiches, pizza and pasta, along with a variety of meat and seafood dishes.
