»Fort Early

Built before the Battle of Lynchburg, Fort Early is named after General Jubal Early. It was built with an objective to protect and guard the outskirts of Lynchburg from the Union Army. This earthen fort is still intact and in 1919, the Jubal Early Monument was raised to honor General Early. »Miller Claytor House

Believed to be the fourth house built in Lynchburg, this historic house is the sole surviving pre-19th century townhouse where Thomas Jefferson allegedly proved to the owner of the house's garden that tomatoes were not poisonous by eating one of the fruit. »Old City Cemetery

»First Baptist Church Lynchburg

The First Baptist Church situated at Lynchburg in Virginia is a noted Baptist church building. Constructed on a jagged granite foundation, it is predominantly created from hard-pressed red bricks. Adorned with large rose windows, the two sides to the main façade are bordered with moldings. The structure was built in 1884.
