Electronic music can be enjoyed on several different levels. Some people like intense, club-friendly dance music; others, mellow, methodically produced material that's easy to relax to. Fans of the former category of electronic composition will undoubtedly find the sonic discharge Israeli-based dubstep producer Borgore creates. With wobbly tonal shifts and off-beat rhythm flourishes, the up-and-coming electronic artist is making waves on the modern electro circuit and with more time under his belt--playing at different raves and festivals--he'll no doubt prove to be an extremely interesting artist to track.

1000 Coliseum Drive
Hampton, VA 23666
Compton, California-based rapper Tyga is one of Lil Wayne and Birdman's crew, illustrious Young Money Cash Money (YMCMB), who made a name for himself on the mixtape circuit as a rapper capable of creating both pop and straight-ahead gangster rap. With hits like "Rack City," "Coconut Juice," and notable features on songs like Chris Brown's "Deuces," Tyga has proved that he is a young rapper with appeal to both hip-hop heads and American pop youth. Backed by the Young Money crew, it's unlikely Tyga will fall far from his current pedestal, as the label seems only to prove more and more successful with artists like Nicki Minaj and Drake at the forefront of the crew.

At some point during Marie Daulne's young life growing up in the Congo, her father was killed by rebels who were opposed to mixed race relations (Dauline's father was white, her mother black). Shortly after the murder of her father, Daulne and her family fled to Belgium--where they lived in relative peace until Daulne was old enough to leave the nest. During her rearing in Europe, Daulne became extremely interested in music, in particular the music of Africa. Soon she returned to the land where her father met his demise and uncovered an all encompassing love of African music. When she returned to Europe, she started blending African and Western music and ever since she has recorded and toured under the name Zap Mama.

Corey Smith

317 Monticello Avenue
Norfolk, VA 23510
Corey Smith is a singer/songwriter and guitarist who grew up in Jefferson, a small town in Georgia. For much of his adolescence, Smith was discontent with his small town roots, admitting later that he often dreamed of leaving Jefferson. After one semester abroad, he found that his heart remained in Georgia and returned home to attend the University of West Georgia and then the University of Georgia, where his longtime girlfriend and now wife attended. During school, he developed a reputation for playing his guitar everywhere and anywhere, often spotted with the instrument at parties and bars. His debut album Undertones, released in 2003, features one of his most requested songs, "Twenty One." Smith gained a solid fan base with his alcohol and party-driven lyrics as well as his folk rock/country blues sound, a brand of music that he continued throughout his following albums including his 2011 effort, The Broken Record.
