The Nicodemus National Historic Site, is a historic area, and the sole surviving town founded by the African-American people during the period after the American Civil War. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. It preserves five important landmarks including the Township Hall, the African Methodist Episcopal Church, the First Baptist Church, St. Francis Hotel and the Nicodemus School District.
