Stevie Wonder managed to become one of the top-selling and most interesting musical prodigies of the past century, all without the use of his eyes. The multi-talented musician rose to prominence in the 1970s with a slew of impressive LPs--most notably Songs in the Key of Life--and is still as relevant as ever as he continues to play concerts and release albums of new material encompassing the genres of soul, R&B and contemporary pop.

Slayer has been called the heaviest band in the world. The group's vicious guitar shredding and thundering double bass rhythm section combine with screaming vocals that cover topics like serial killers, Satanism, religion and warfare to create an intense onslaught of noise. The group was founded in Huntington Park, California in the early 1980s but the band didn't break big until producer extraordinaire Rick Rubin noticed the group in 1986 and offered them a recording contract. The Rubin-produced Reign in Blood has been called a metal masterpiece and is credited for establishing Slayer as one of the more important metal bands in history.

Ballethnic Dance Company's "Urban Nutcracker" is to Tchaikovsky's holiday classic what "The Wiz" was to "The Wizard of Oz". Their soulful reinterpretation takes place on Atlanta's historic Sweet Auburn Avenue in the 1940's, with the elegant Brown Sugar being swept away to a magical land by the dashing Chocolatier. Their whimsical Christmas Eve journey is filled with the spins and leaps of the Black Russian and the Reggae Rag Dolls. This creative spin on the traditional ballet will leave you with visions of Spice Drops dancing in your head.

Papadosio is a five-member band from Athens, Ohio that creates a hybrid of live and electronic styles. The eclectic group is popular with the jam band crowd due in large part to its tendencies to include long bouts of improvisational solos inspired by rock, blues and jazz. However, Papadosio couples this approach with livetronica elements that affords it the opportunity to play around with producers of dub and techno. This combination of somewhat disparate styles has helped Papadosio build bridges between fans of several styles of music. The band recently relocated to Asheville, North Carolina, where it is beginning to become a fixture on the music festival circuit.
