Sleepy Hollow Sports Park is a 60-acre sports and family recreation complex. Some of the many activities offered at the park include bumper boats, go-karts, mini-golf, climbing wall, batting cages, and sand volleyball. In the winter they also have skiing, snow tubing, and snowboarding. The complex is also available for group events such as birthday parties, corporate picnics, school field trips, and many others. Iowa State Fairgrounds was originally the Charles Thornton Farmstead and has been the home of the Iowa State Fair since 1886. Spread across 435 acres (176.03 hectares), these sprawling grounds also have historic buildings and is registered on the National Register of Historic Places. These include structures like the primary house and barn, the 1902 Livestock Pavilion and the 1904 Agriculture Building. Nearly more than half of the open space is used for the annual fair and the remaining is a campground. The entire area is divided into departments. It also hosts concerts, flea markets, livestock exhibitions, antiques and, auto and trade shows.
