Annual event celebrating the birth of West Virginia as the 35th State of the Union. The celebration features reactors who will portray both Union and Confederate soldiers and civilians. A parade down main street will begins at noon on Saturday.

The newly renovated Ritz Theatre reopened its doors in October 2009 celebrating its 80th Anniversary. The community is enjoying weekend movies and live entertainment during the week. Renovations included a new performing arts stage, movie screen and sound system, central heating and air conditioning, and a new roof. The lobby has a concession stand, handicap accessible bathrooms and public access to the balcony and mezzanine areas. Theatre rental is available for special occasions.
