    The Bots

    79 North Pearl Street
    Albany, NY 12207
Mikaiah and Anaiah Lei were 15 and 12 respectively when they first stepped into the studio as The Bots. Despite their young age, the brothers have crafted a lo-fi garage punk sound of their own with quick-fire drumming and and raw guitar grinds. The Bots released Self-Titled Album in 2009 and followed by 2010's Black and White Lights. The band was critically acclaimed as one of the stand-out acts of the 2011 Vans Warped tour, and its sound is only getting sharper as it ages. The band's third album 2011's Ladies & Gentlemen, demonstrates a much deeper voice by lead vocalist and guitarist Mikaiah as well as drummer Anaiah's strengthened hold on intricate rhythms.

With little to no radio play to bolster its image, King Crimson has had to rely on memorable albums and intense live shows to build a reputation for itself. The band is widely credited as being one of the forefathers of progressive rock and with technicality, virtuosity and an adherence to abstract instrumentation King Crimson has bypassed the mainstream only to find a dedicated group of fans eager to lap up any of its musical discharge. Though the group was founded in England in 1969, King Crimson has a number incarnations with members from various countries, helping add to the multi-national and extremely diverse sound of the band.

    Snarky Puppy

    Clifton Park, NY 12065
Composed of over 30 artists Snarky Puppy is a musical collective from Denton, TX that creates a fusion of jazz and progressive rock music. Led by composer, producer and bassist Michael League, the band came to life in 2004 while many of its members were students at the University of Northern Texas. The jazz fusion sound of Snarky Puppy's debut release, 2005's Live at Uncommon Ground, was well-received by its college peers, but it was the band's follow up album The Only Constant, which catalyzed a tour after its release in 2006, that widened the band's audience beyond its Texas roots. League is highly regarded in jazz circles as one of the drivers behind nu jazz and was featured in Cicily Janus's 2010 book, The New Face of Jazz: An Intimate look at today's living legends and the artists of tomorrow.

    Sir Sly

    79 North Pearl Street
    Albany, NY 12207
Sir Sly is an electronic rock band from Los Angeles that uses synthesizers and drum machines, as well as a standard rock instrument repertoire, to create its own brand of indietronica. Crafted in a home studio, the group's melancholy rock ballads and dark pop melodies own a subtle ragged edge where most electro rock is squeeky clean, resulting in a style Sir Sly describes as "sly-fi."

It's a testament to the long-lasting and adaptive nature of Cher's music that her biggest selling hit came over 30 years into her career. That single, "Believe," propelled her back into the spotlight in 1998, revamping her '80s diva image with a more dance oriented sound that resonated with younger generations. Relative to the elaborate stage shows and over the top wardrobes she's now known for, Cher's beginnings were a little more subdued, performing hits like "I Got You Babe" with husband and collaborator, Sonny Bono, throughout the '60s and '70s. In the '80s, she continued to thrive as a solo artist and also branched out into the world of film, where she won the Best Actress trophy at the 1988 Academy Awards for her performance in Moonstruck.
