The eminent First Presbyterian Church is located at Glens Falls, Warren County, in New York. Constructed in 1927, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Established on a land area of less than one acre, the church building is a predominantly a stone and Neo-Gothic style church in a cruciform plan. Structured and designed by celebrated architect Ralph Adams Cram, it is a monumental structure in Warren County. The church works to spread faith, love and spirituality along with biblical values through its varied programs and worship services.
Established in 1980, East Field is a baseball ground that has been attracting thousands of fans and followers. The ground is a prominent and a famous one because it has been a home ground to some of the most popular and top teams of the city. These include Glens Falls White Sox, Tigers, Northeast League and so on. Many college and university leagues also take place here. The ground has a total capacity of 7,000 with comfortable seats and free parking. You can also find a souvenir stand here along with one for snacks and drinks.
Fort Edward-Glens Falls Amtrak Station is a historic train station that dates back to 1840. Formerly a depot of Delaware and Hudson Railroad, it has been re-constructed and replaced several times and now is used as an Amtrak Station. A part of the National Register of Historic Places, it is equipped with modern amenities like parking and payphone.
This small church, located close to the bank of Fish Creek, has been serving the Episcopal Christian community in Schuylerville for over 150 years. Made of stone, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church reflects beautiful Gothic Revival architecture. A unique feature of this church is its layout, which is in the shape of a cross. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
Established in the year 1903 by Lucy Skidmore Scribner, Skidmore College is a reputed private arts college that offers excellent education programs in the stream of arts and science. The college enrolls approximately 2400 undergraduate students every year and boasts of a relatively small students-faculty ratio. The college offers degree programs in arts, law and society, computer science, religion and economics. Besides, it also offers majors in the field of social sciences and humanities, business management and education for students based in more than 30 countries. The Greenwich Village Historic District was included in the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. The Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation preserves and protects this historical district. The Society conducts village tours, educational programs and exhibitions that give insight into the heritage of the village and other facts. It features buildings, parks and a Civil War monument. Since most of the structures were built from 1840 and 1900, different architectural styles were applied. The South Granville Congregational Church erected in the 1840s era has adapted the Late Gothic Revival style of architecture. Included in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, it is truly a historical landmark.
The US Post Office-Whitehall is a historic building situated in Whitehall, New York. The red brick structure was built in 1937 under Louis Simon in the Colonial Revival style of architecture. A mural named Settlement of Skenesborough by Alex Horn is featured inside the building. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
