Renowned for being the pioneering iron manufacture resource in North America, the Falling Creek Ironworks was established in 1619. Although its establishment was momentary due to the Native Americans’ attack in 1622, it is of great historic significance. After being rediscovered in the 21st Century, the site is presently located in Chestfield County. It works to preserve, conserve and further explore the archaeological spots and resources. It also encourages the scientific learning of iron-working sites and materials.
