    The Crucible
Fort Worth Community Arts CenterSeptember 19, 2014 8:00 PM
    1300 Gendy Street
    Fort Worth, TX 76107
Written by Arthur Miller and first performed in 1953, The Crucible dramatizes the Salem witch trials of the Province Massachusetts Bay Colony of the late 1600s. The play is a finely wrought allegory of the McCarthy Trials in the United States, and one of the twentieth century’s most exigent social commentaries. As a result, Miller was questioned by the House of Representatives Committee of Un-American activities and convicted of "contempt of Congress," making The Crucible quite infamous. The play won the 1953 Tony Award for “Best Play,” and is a canonical work of American literature.

    Carolyn Wonderland
Levitt Pavilion for the Performing ArtsSeptember 19, 2014 7:00 PM
    100 West Abrams Street
    Arlington, TX 76010
Houston singer/songwriter Carolyn Wonderland dropped out of high school to pursue her musical ambition, teaching herself the guitar, mandolin, trumpet and piano, amongst others, then touring exhaustively, 300 days a year for two years in a row. While she is considered primarily a blues musician, Wonderland incorporates elements from country, zydeco, swing, and cumbia, never fully falling into one genre. Her dedication to her craft paid off, as Wonderland is able to count Bob Dylan among her admirers, has consistently found herself on the "Roots Music Reports" charts and has had her music featured on prominent NBC and Fox television programs. Wonderland's fervent devotion to music shows through in her performances and she is thus a live act not to be missed.

He's also released three albums of hilarious prank calls, which have been featured on national radio shows, including the "Tom Joyner Morning Show" and Jamie Foxx's The Foxxhole station on Sirius.
