Immortal Technique, otherwise known as Felipe Andres Coronel, was born in Lima, Peru, but raised in Harlem, New York, in February, 1978. Due to his culturally dichotomous backround, his slippery rap style is tinged with political activism. His lyrics reflect a strong criticism of politics, society, poverty and economics, among other issues, most evident in his debut album, Revolutionary Vol. 1, released in 2001.
