Located in what was then in 1910, the crown jewel of the Denver and Rio Grande and Western Pacific railroad systems, the Utah State Historical Society is an appropriate tenant of the Renaissance Revival depot. The Society presents a permanent exhibit of Utah's unique cultural, industrial and social development and a number of changing exhibits. The Society also offers the Utah Information Center, a research facility for writers, historians and genealogists. The book and gift shop specializes in Utah and Western history. There is no admission fee.

»Art Access Gallery

This unique gallery in downtown Salt Lake City is a part of Very Special Arts Utah, and features seven to nine exhibits each year. These exhibits focus mainly on works by artists with disabilities. Most of the artwork relates to social issues, children's pieces, or work by artists who grew up in under-served or underdeveloped communities. Art Access Gallery is one of very few of its kind and lies near several other art galleries in Salt Lake, making it a convenient stop along your gallery stroll.

Occupying an impressive limestone structure built in 1905; this interactive museum offers the young and young-at-heart an entertaining look at the universe. An ideal reward for kids who behaved well while touring nearby Temple Square, the museum encourages participation with simulated space flights, star shows and dancing laser lights. Its Hansen Dome Theater boasts of over 200 seats and is the first of its kind to give viewers the pleasure of exploring the universe in three dimension without the use of glasses. The theater has spectacular projectors and its state-of-the-art acoustics are second to none. In addition, the Clark Planetarium is home to an ATK IMAX Theater which showcases Hollywood blockbusters along with informative films. The films generated by the Clark Planetarium have reached corners of the globe, and some of their applauded shows are Perfect Little Planet, Gateway to the Stars, Extreme Planets and the Ultimate Universe. This museum traces the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the pioneers who built a city on the shores of the Great Salt Lake.
