Iglesia de San José Orosi
Across from soccer field, center of town
If you are interested in history or in historic architecture, then a visit to the Church of San José of Orosi is on the cards. The old church was build by Francisan missionaries in 1743, and the peacefullness and attractive location of the church give no hint of some of the atrocities committed by missionaries in the name of converting the local people. The Franciscan monks were particularly influential in the colonizing of the "New World".
