Because the instrumental complexity that's pervasive throughout most jazz music, there aren't many singers who have an opportunity to prove themselves within the confines of the genre. A few vocalists are able to stand out, however, and Italian chanteuse Roberta Gambarini is one of them. She studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and after graduating she made a significant splash within several snooty jazz circles after she dropped a few of her own original recordings. She has since upped her game and is now considered one of the more respected female jazz vocalists of her generation.

Based on the 1900 novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, The Wizard of Oz franchise has seen an absurd number of adaptations, off-brand sequels and spin-offs. The classic tale of a Kansas girl named Dorothy and her adventure into the land of wicked witches, flying monkeys and talking scarecrows has captivated children and adults alike for over a century. People are usually most familiar with the 1939 film version, but The Wizard of Oz was performed as a live musical as early as 1902, when it was adapted for the stage by Baum himself.
Perhaps best known as the beloved 1950 Jimmie Stewart film, "Harvey" was originally a Pulitzer Prize-winning play -- and now's your chance to see it live like it all started. Good old Elwood P. Dowd has a best friend named Harvey. Elwood takes Harvey with him everywhere he goes, introducing him to folks and ordering him drinks at their favorite local bar. Yes, Harvey and Elwood are very good friends indeed. It's just that Harvey happens to be an imaginary six-foot, three-and-one-half-inch tall rabbit. Based on Mary Chase's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Actor's Cafe Productions' "Harvey" is the subtly hilarious story of a lovable gentleman, his invisible best friend and the exasperated family members who want to wash their hands of the whole oddball situation.
