    Merle Haggard
Riverdome At Horseshoe CasinoNovember 15, 2014 8:00 PM
    711 Horseshoe Boulevard
    Bossier City, LA 71111
Country legend Merle Haggard hardly needs an introduction, but for many fans of today's pop country hits, Haggard may fall outside of their normal radars. Haggard was instrumental in country's music's ascension to critical and commercial acclaim in the 1960s and throughout his career, he aided in putting a genre based on honesty and storytelling on the map before most anyone else. It may come as a surprise to many that Haggard grew up in California despite the genre's mostly Southern roots, but Haggard's raw, Fender Telecaster-driven take on sounds coming from Nashville set a precedent for a whole generation of innovative musicians.

    Cher

It's a testament to the long-lasting and adaptive nature of Cher's music that her biggest selling hit came over 30 years into her career. That single, "Believe," propelled her back into the spotlight in 1998, revamping her 80s diva image with a more dance oriented sound that resonated with younger generations. Relative to the elaborate stage shows and over the top wardrobes she's now known for, Cher's beginnings were a little more subdued, performing hits like "I Got You Babe" with husband and collaborator, Sonny Bono, throughout the 60s and 70s. In the 80s, she continued to thrive as a solo artist and also branched out into the world of film, where she won the Best Actress trophy at the 1988 Academy Awards for her performance in Moonstruck.

The Reverend Horton Heat is a Texas-based trio and the moniker of its front man and singer/songwriter Jim Heath. Formed in 1985, The Reverend Horton Heat offers an aggressive but endearing psychobilly sound that includes elements of country, punk and rockabilly. While the group has found a fair amount of success on the mainstream market, with songs in multiple commercials, television shows and video games, The Reverent Horton Heat gets most of its support from the close-knit cult following that has been around since the beginning, from the band's 1990 debut album Smoke 'em If You Got'em, to its most renowned effort, 2002's Lucky 7.

    Engelbert Humperdinck
    Margaritaville Resort CasinoNovember 17, 2014 8:00 PM
    777 Margaritaville Way
    Bossier City, LA 71111
Born Arnold Dorsey, UK crooner Engelbert Humperdinck knew early on that he wanted to be a musician, but had difficulty finding success after a decade of singing in night clubs. However, in the late 1960s, after changing his given name to that of the German composer, Humperdinck signed to Decca, which put out his single "Release Me," a track that topped the charts in the US and UK, impressively preventing the Beatles song "Strawberry Fields Forever" from ever obtaining the number one slot in the band's native country. With his smoothly sung lyrics about love and his charming good looks, the singer was bestowed with the nickname "King of Romance," and to this day continues to perform to smitten fans around the world.
