Considered as one of the best attractions of North Carolina, the Ava Gardner Museum walks you through the life of the legendary Hollywood actress. With the exhibit space of 5000 square meters (53820 square feet), this museum showcases various bits from the life of the actress. From her movies to her marriages, the story of Ava Gardner is told to you as witnessed by some of her close friends and family. Exhibiting her movie posters, clothes, jewelery, fine art and portraits donated by Bert Pfeiffer, this museum screens a short biography of the actress featuring information about her life, both personal and professional. A self guided tour of this museum helps you understand the life of one of the glamorous women of Hollywood.
Dedicated to collecting and preserving artifacts and exhibits that pertain to Central Eastern North Carolina, this museum contains numerous historic artifacts including a large collection of Civil War exhibits.
Dedicated to promoting the arts in Wayne County, this arts council is located in a 12,000 square foot building that includes many art studios and galleries, a children's studio and gallery, and an executive boardroom. Gardens surround the building and numerous performances, exhibitions, workshops, and art classes are available.
