»Old Main

The original university building, the Old Main has been an iconic structure and symbol of the University of Arkansas since its completion in 1875. The building was based on a design by Van Osdel, and was an exact replica of the University Hall of Urbana-Champaign. A landmark building that well represents the architectural style of the 19th century, the building was remodeled and renovated between 1986 to 1991. Of note are the North Tower, Arboretum, Statue of James William Fulbright and the Senior Walk.

The university is particularly well known for its athletics, the Razorbacks, who are NCAA Division One teams and part of the SEC. Visitors to the campus should take a stroll down the Senior Walk, where the names of every graduate since 1876's names are engraved into the ground.

»Chi Omega Greek Theatre

The Chi Omega Greek Theatre was built on the University of Arkansas as a replica of the Theatre of Dionysus in Greece. Gifted to the university by Chi Omega, the open air structure was built in Greek style architecture in 1930. It features fourteen pillars, symbolic for the number of original members and five aisles, in honor of the five founders of Chi Omega. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992 and is used for concerts, plays, ceremonies and other university events.
